Apply Now: AmeriCorps Scholarships Available
Click here to apply to be an AmeriCorps member with CALPIRG's Energy Service Corps.
As an AmeriCorps member you'll work to promote energy efficiency in your community. You'll help the environment, serve your community, and earn an education stipend to pay for tuition, student loans, and other educational expenses.
CFL light bulbs use 75% less energy than incandescent bulbs - if everyone in the U.S. switched one light bulb, it would have the same effect on greenhouse gas emissions as taking 800,000 cars off the road!
You can work on a lot of different projects: teaching kids about energy efficiency through fun and interactive lessons; conducting energy efficiency surveys of houses in your neighborhood; creating partnerships with community groups; meeting with local and state officials; working with the media; and more - all in an effort to foster long-term community stewardship and increase energy efficiency across California.
