This spring, instead of going to
Cancun for their spring break, 50 college students with the statewide public
interest organization CALPIRG are spending their break doing something
different: these young people want to see California protect our oceans and
marine life by passing a statewide ban on Styrofoam take out containers, so
they are planning to spend their spring break touring the state to speak to the
people who can help make it happen.
The
Wave of Change 2010 Tour will start out in San Diego, and travel up the state's
coast making seven stops – San Diego, Newport Beach, LA, Santa Barbara,
Monterey, San Francisco, and Sacramento. At each stop the students will hold
beach cleanups, beach themed press conferences, and collected “Greetings
from...” postcards for our state legislators to build support for a statewide
Styrofoam takeout container ban.
Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity! Register today to take part!!
Come to all or part of the Spring Break to make a difference!
